Urban Livelihoods Programme Brief

Urban Livelihoods has been a major programme of Oxfam HK in mainland China.  Rural-urban migrant workers are the largest vulnerable group in urban areas in mainland China. Due to its close connection with rural poverty alleviation and development, Oxfam Hong Kong started projects for migrant workers in 1997.  This brief analyses major problems facing the migrant workers, and highlights the Urban Livelihoods Programme’s objectives, strategies. It also consolidated programme’s milestones, significant outputs and outcomes and good practices.
